CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Caring For Your Traveller Series Pieces
The Golden Rule
Put it on last, take it off first. Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, sleeping, exercising and household chores. Keep it away from chlorine, perfume, lotions and skincare.
A Note On Plated Jewellery
Gold plated jewellery is beautiful and more accessible than solid gold, but it asks for a little more attention. The plating will stay radiant significantly longer with the right care. Without it, even the finest plating will show wear over time.
All plated jewellery will fade eventually — this is simply the nature of the material, regardless of brand. What matters is the base metal underneath. We use 925 sterling silver on most of our pieces because any tarnish that develops can be polished away and the piece restored. And in our solid gold range, the metal itself does not tarnish at all.
Gold Plated & Vermeil
Keep your piece away from direct contact with perfume, lotions and skincare — apply these first and let them dry before putting your jewellery on. To clean, soak briefly in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap — a few minutes only, as the metals and stones are porous. Rinse and dry gently with a soft cloth. Do not brush with a toothbrush as this wears away plating. Do not leave your jewellery submerged or sitting in water. Store individually in an airtight bag or container with silica gel when not wearing.
Sterling Silver With Platinum Plating
The natural oils in your skin help prevent tarnishing once the platinum plating wears off, so the more you wear it the better. To clean, soak briefly in warm soapy water, rinse and dry gently. To restore shine, buff with a soft microfibre cloth or a little silver polish. Store in an airtight bag when not wearing.
Solid Gold
Solid gold is the only material that asks almost nothing of you. Soak in warm soapy water, use a very soft toothbrush for detailed settings, rinse and dry. Store in your soft pouch.
Gemstones & Quartz
Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth to remove any oils or residue, then dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking, soap, perfume and lotions. Avoid repeated water exposure over a short period as this can erode softer stones — including opals, moonstone and turquoise — over time. Store silver based pieces in an airtight resealable bag and solid gold pieces in your soft pouch.
Pearls
Pearls are coated in nacre — the iridescent surface that gives them their beauty — and it's more delicate than it looks. After wearing, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth to remove any oils or residue. Never soak pearls in water — once out of the oyster, the nacre is exposed and prolonged water exposure weakens both the surface and the metal or silk thread they're set on. Avoid soap, perfume and lotions entirely as these dull the nacre over time. Store separately from other jewellery as pearls scratch easily. A soft pouch for solid gold or an airtight resealable bag for silver based pieces.
